During the course of your treatment, your physician may order physical, occupational or speech therapy to aid in your recovery. The Rehabilitation Services department at East Alabama Medical Center, including its outpatient program, RehabWorks, has the staff and expertise to provide these therapies. Additionally, we offer the Robert and Marjorie Goodson Oncology Wellness Program. This program is a collaboration between the Cancer Center of East Alabama, HealthPlus Fitness Center, and RehabWorks outpatient rehabilitation. Studies have shown that exercise, good nutrition, and emotional and social support go a long way toward improving the quality of life for cancer patients both during and after treatment.
